Master Massage Therapist and Owner of Spa Rosalia
San Diego Reader
In 1994 Sheri Rosalia was selling hot cars & riding fast motorcycles in Long Island NY. She left that life, but kept her accent. Upon relocating to San Diego she found sunshine & her passion for Massage Therapy.
On a whim Twenty years ago Sheri took a massage training class at Mueller College, one of the first ever established and most prestigious in the country. From the first day of class, the healing power and potential associated with bodywork intrigued her and she has continued incorporating a fusion of techniques from her travels around the world including spa education in Turkey & India.
Sheri knew massage was her calling on the first day of class. “One of the exercises we had to do was hold our hand about 6 inches above the body of the massage recipient and ‘scan’ the energy field for activity. Skeptical by nature, I rolled my eyes and did it. When my hand approached the abdomen area I felt intense energy, and asked the model what was going on. She hadn’t told anyone yet, but the secret was now out: She was pregnant. From that moment on, the possibilities of massage for healing captivated me.” That was Sheri’s first lesson in the importance of listening to the body. As she says “muscles speak, it’s important to listen” There is a concept that deep tissue massage and therapeutic work needs to hurt in order to be successful, but Sheri’s philosophy is different. “Applying intense pressure to a muscle is easy. What is hard is coaxing a muscle, the surrounding connective tissue and knowing what constrictions in other parts of the body are influencing an area to experience pain.” For that level of skill, you need a muscle whisperer. It’s technique and skill based on knowledge and experience.
With nineteen years of massage experience Sheri Rosalia understands what makes a massage session truly exceptional from a client’s perspective.
Sheri’s skill & experience have established a set of treatment values that richly benefits clients. These values are adopted by all massage staff at Spa Rosalia.
She opened her first Day Spa in 1998 with a business partner, & branched out to open “Spa Rosalia” in 2003.
